The OSEP PD Conference blog will be used to provide you – the grantees – with updates, logistical information, and introductions to timely topics leading up to, during, and following the 2013 PD Conference. To stay connected to the most up-to-date information about the Conference:

  • Subscribe to this blog
  • Look for our “PD Conference Attendee Tips” – reminders at the end of each blog post that will prepare you for your trip to DC in July
  • #PDConf is the official PD Conference Twitter hashtag! We encourage you to use it in your tweets leading up to and during the conference. Be on the lookout for updates and information about using the hashtag from official ED Twitter accounts, OSEP TA&D Centers, and your fellow grantees.

To kick off the blog, we’d like to highlight a number of changes to the conference based on your feedback from previous years:

  • Networking opportunities: We are excited that the schedule for this year’s conference allows for more informal networking opportunities. Conference staff are planning ways to help attendees connect with one another leading up to and during the conference. If you have any ideas about how to make the conference more interactive and networking-friendly, leave us a comment below!
  • Poster sessions: The poster session will take place in two parts this year, with the first session on Monday, July 15 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM and the second session on Tuesday, July 16 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM.
  • Continued efforts to go green: We are increasing the number of materials on our jump drives this year as we continue our efforts to go green.

We look forward to interacting with you on the blog until we see you in person at the Conference! In the meantime, here’s what Donna Sobel – a 2012 PD Conference Planning Committee Member – had to say as she looks forward to this year’s conference:

“The OSEP Project Director's Conference provides a supportive networking opportunity. Presentations that I've made and those I've attended serve as an introduction to colleagues across the country. As part of the 325T community, I've been able to connect with a number of individuals via our monthly webinars but being at the conference brings us together at a different level. Having those personal connections has made it just that much easier to shoot off an email down the road asking for assistance with my work. While at the conference this year, I already know that my day will begin with an early morning walk at the zoo down the street to see the pandas and also talk with a couple colleagues about how we are evaluating student progress at our different internship sites. It's that mix of business and pleasure that describes the PD conference.”
